Among the debates about hair well-being, we find the subject of hair drying. We have all wondered what is the best way to dry our hair.

The question arises, is it better to dry our hair with a hairdryer or in the open air ? At first glance, letting it dry in the open air seems better because there is no risk of burning it. So, is it the right solution? Answer in the body of the article.

THE DISADVANTAGES OF AIR DRYING

Air drying your hair means leaving it wet for several hours (depending on its length), and leaving the scalp damp. Humidity damages the scalp.

Indeed, humidity lifts the scaly layer of the scalp and weakens it, leaving this layer wet creates a more fragile scalp and weakens the hair fiber. Keeping your hair wet also leads to the appearance of dandruff and significant hair loss. Another disadvantage is that air drying produces greasy roots faster and therefore forces you to wash your hair more often.

HOW TO DRY YOUR HAIR PROPERLY?

As you can see, air drying your hair is a false good idea. It is therefore preferable to dry it with a hair dryer. Here are the steps to follow to dry it without damaging it:

1. First, start by gently dabbing them to remove as much water as possible. To make this step easier, you can use a microfiber towel or a thick cotton towel (from 500 gr/m2).

Avoid detangling your hair when it is wet. This is a common mistake for many people that harms our hair. Fragile when wet, hair loses 50% of its strength and its fiber is sensitive, so brushing too aggressively can break it. We recommend waiting until it is dry.

2. Then, dry them at a warm temperature and at least 15 cm from the scalp. Avoid placing the hair dryer above it as it could damage the scalp.

3. Finally, use the cold air function to close the pores of the scalp and soothe your hair. Brush it and your hair is clean, beautiful and strong.

CONCLUSION

To dry your hair effectively and without damaging it, use a hair dryer that is not too hot on well-wrung hair. Also consider using a moisturizing shampoo to keep your hair shiny and supple.
